Album Review:
COHEED AND CAMBRIA - Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madnessthis is a truly sad album. sad not in the emo sense, but because this album truly is mediocre. despite the fierce-sounding and rather ridiculous album title, it is really a badly marketed easy listening album filled with pop sounds and happiness. yes, CoCa has finally sold out. big time.
following the amazing success of 'In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3', this album lacks the aggression and bite of its predecessor. i think serious bands should just concentrate on their music and not engage in graphic novels and comics. the third studio album by C&C is cut in the mold of The Used's In Love And Death; selling out and entertaining the masses and getting massive radio airplay. yes, no doubt alternative bands may finally decide to make some money and not keep their integrity, but i feel that the above-mentioned bands should really just change their names and place a warning sticker on the album cover warning of their ship-jump.
now the 3 last things for CoCa to do before they complete their transition would be:
1) Change their album title to 'Good Apollo, We've Become Judas'
2) Fire their unjustified and long-suffering lead guitarist
3) Sign up with major label Sony BMG and do a collaboration with Hillary Duff
failing which they're still gonna be entertaining every wannabe. please dont tell me how good you think they are. and no, dont ever mention their names to me again.
PS: you dont really wanna see how many stars out of 5 i'm giving them.
